New stuff, old stuff...

These will be available in KT Jean design's etsy shop:

New handmade flowers, old pages, I love it! The big flower, a hair piece, is made from hand cut, hand ironed pieces of cotton, muslin and 2 types of silk with a freshwater pearl center hidden in it's many petals. The "leaves" are made from the pages of a 1950s copy of "Great religions of the world" and accented with a vintage velvet millinery leaf. The smaller one, a lapel pin, is 2 colors of hand cut, hand ironed midori dupioni silk with a vintage button center, feathers and 2 book "leaves."

Crafty girls night in!

This was SO fun! Wine, sewing, food, good friends- what a great combination! Everyone made something from one of Therese Laskeys awesome books on "Softies".

Fleurs...

My favorite kind of arrangement- hand picked from the herb and lavender garden and plopped into a jelly jar. My house is usually filled with this kind of thing...

Evolution of a flower...

Ok, I am having way too much fun with my vintage japanese flower iron!! That thing makes the most gorgeous petals- check out my newest flowers for Mignonne- peonies! The perfect accessory for a unique and romantic wedding. Can you tell I was watching "Pride and prejudice" when I was creating these?

Chocolate bread!

My Mom, Emma and I made our weekly journey to the old town scottsdale farmers market to get our yummy fresh veggies from Bob McClendon's awesome stand. As we were walking around looking for samples (this is the way we bribe Emma to get excited for farmers market, well that and looking for smartly dresses doggies) we came upon this A-mazing bread!! One taste and we were buying 2 loaves, wish in hindsight we had bought 4! It is Ben Hershberger's chocolate cherry sourdough, yes, chocolaholics this bread is for you! Apparently this is a much sought after foodie cult bread and we're lucky to have gotten 2 loaves let alone 1. So go early this saturday to the market and get your fresh baked addiction.

Introducing, Mignonne...

Whew! Feels like these first few weeks of 2010 have really flown by! Emma started her winter classes at our local community center, been making more of an effort to by more of our food at one of our farmer's markets and my resolution to add 50% more raw foods to my diet has kept me trying new things in the kitchen. It's amazing how little raw food we normally eat! And of course my obsession with all things darling- I've been really busy on my new line of wedding and special event accessories. Here is a peak at what I have in my new etsy shop Mignonne:

Bonne Annee!

Lyon
Geneva

This year will be filled with exciting adventures, I hope! Starting with my trip to France in February with my good friend and expert cool thing finder, Dani. We're headed first to the flea markets of the international city of Geneva then we will rent a car and drive to the 2nd largest flea market in France which is located in Lyon. It will be a whirlwind weekend of treasure hunting, map using and cheese eating (will be taking a short break from veganism) and hopefully we will return with lots of fun stuff available to you in the etsy store and lots of awesome raw materials to make beaucoup de Jolie choses. From now till Feb 18th I'm in a race to recoup as much useful French as I can from my college days. Good luck to all those attempting new experiences and adventures in the new year!
